Make a Change

Make a Change for International Students

The only way to make a positive change for current and future international students is to make sure we have our voices heard. Being in the United States of America means we have opportunities to create changes.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

-The First Amendment, United States of America Constitution

In other words, we have the right to petition the government according to the United States constitution. We can do so peacefully and respectfully.

There is a website called We the People that allows people to create petitions. We will keep this page up-to-date with petitions related to immigration and international students. You can also create your own petition and let us know. We’ll put it on this page.

Sign Our Petition!

We created a petition to help international students establish businesses in the United States. This was inspired by the article The Hurdles of Starting a Business as an International Student in our spring 2014 issue of International Student Voice Magazine (read below).

How it Works

We will then have 30 days to reach 150 signatures to make the petition searchable within whitehouse.gov

When we reach that milestone, then we will have another 30 days to each 100,000 signatures in order to have our petition reviewed.
